1. Member Service History Has Been Redesigned
The new Member Service History page gives members a much clearer view of all PF accounts linked to their UAN.
It now displays:
- Previous Member IDs
- Employment history
- Date of Joining and Exit
- Transfer status
- Pending transfers
- Member ID Delink access
Instead of navigating multiple sections, members can now review their employment history and identify pending PF transfers from a single page.

2. Member ID Delink Has Been Moved
The Member ID Delink feature is now accessible through the Members adhaar linked service section when we try to raise a withdrawal.
Members who find an incorrectly linked Member ID can use this option to initiate a delinking request without searching through multiple portal menus.

3. PF Advance (Form 31) Is Easier to Navigate
The PF Advance application has been redesigned to simplify withdrawal selection.
Instead of showing a long list of withdrawal purposes, EPFO now groups them into three categories:
Essential Needs
- Illness
- Education
- Marriage
Housing Needs
- House purchase
- House construction
- Home loan repayment
Special Circumstances
- Other eligible withdrawals
This makes it easier for members to identify the correct withdrawal purpose before filing a claim.
4. Eligible PF Withdrawal Amount Is Calculated Automatically
One of the most useful improvements is that the portal now automatically displays your Eligible Claim Amount before you submit a PF Advance application.
Members no longer need to estimate their withdrawal eligibility manually.
The page now shows:
- Eligible withdrawal amount
- Selected withdrawal category
- Aadhaar authentication status
- Address details linked to the UAN
The displayed amount is calculated automatically based on the applicable EPFO withdrawal rules and remains subject to final verification during claim processing.
The updated claim page also informs members that, for eligible partial withdrawal cases, up to 75% of the eligible PF balance can generally be withdrawn while 25% must remain in the PF account, subject to the applicable withdrawal provisions and EPFO verification. The portal calculates the eligible amount automatically based on these rules, reducing the need for manual calculations.

5. Scheme Certificate Surrender Is Now Online
A new Scheme Certificate Surrender service has been added under Online Services.
This applies only to members who:
- previously received a Scheme Certificate under Form 10C, and
- now want to merge their previous EPS service with their current employment or complete another eligible EPS process.
If the original certificate is unavailable, EPFO now provides an affidavit that can be downloaded, signed and uploaded online.

6. Two Claim Status Pages Are Available
Members will currently notice two separate options:
- Track Claim Status
- Track Claim Status (Old)
This indicates that EPFO is migrating services gradually while keeping the previous tracking interface available during the transition.
7. Joint Declaration Documents Have Changed
Members correcting their:
- Date of Joining
- Date of Exit
- Reason for Leaving
may notice that some previously accepted supporting documents—including pay slips, experience letters, and full-and-final settlement letters—are no longer available for certain request types.
EPFO has not yet clarified whether this is a permanent documentation change or part of the ongoing rollout.
Claims May Take Longer for the Next Two Weeks
Although the portal is live again, EPFO has confirmed that claims and service requests will undergo additional verification and validation during the post-migration period.
Members should expect:
- Longer claim processing times
- Higher portal traffic during peak hours
- Temporary delays while services stabilize
EPFO has also advised members to avoid submitting duplicate claims or repeatedly logging into the portal, as this can increase system load.
e-Passbook Is Still Unavailable
Most Member Portal services have resumed, but the EPF e-Passbook remains unavailable at the time of publication.
EPFO has not announced a restoration date, indicating that passbook services are still part of the ongoing phased rollout.
What PF Members Should Do Now
If you're planning to use the EPFO portal over the next few weeks:
- Check your Member Service History for missing or pending PF transfers.
- Review your automatically calculated Eligible Claim Amount before submitting a PF Advance.
- Use the new withdrawal categories to select the correct claim purpose.
- Avoid filing duplicate claims if one is already being processed.
- Expect longer processing times while EPFO completes post-migration verification.
- Wait for the e-Passbook service to be restored if you need an updated passbook.
FAQ
How long was the EPFO portal down in 2026?
About a week — from June 26 to July 3, 2026 — after EPFO extended the original June 29 target three times.
Is the EPFO e-Passbook working now?
No. As of July 3, 2026, e-Passbook remains unavailable even though core member services have been restored.
Can I withdraw 100% of my PF balance now?
Under the EPF Scheme, 2026, members can withdraw up to 100% of their eligible balance for qualifying reasons, but at least 25% must remain in the account.
Why are there two claim status pages on the portal?
EPFO is rolling out its new tracking system in phases, so both the new "Track Claim Status" and the legacy "Track Claim Status (Old)" pages are live at the same time.
Do I need to resubmit a claim I filed before the outage?
No. Claims submitted before June 26, 2026, are in the queue and will be processed as services stabilize.
Bottom Line
This is the most significant update to the EPFO Member Portal in recent years. Beyond restoring services after a week-long outage, EPFO has introduced practical improvements that simplify PF withdrawals, improve employment history tracking and bring more pension-related services online.
While a few services—most notably the e-Passbook—are still being restored, the portal is clearly moving toward a more streamlined and member-friendly experience.
